Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) is a fast and easy way to receive reimbursement in an electronic format from Horizon BCBSNJ.

EFT helps our providers:

  • Improve cash flow.
  • Get faster access to funds.
  • Reduce administrative effort and expense.
  • Eliminate the risk of checks being lost or stolen.

EFT Registration for Professionals

EFT registration for participating and nonparticipating physicians, other health care and ancillary professionals is performed through NaviNet®. To register for EFT, sign in to, access the Horizon BCBSNJ Plan Central page and go to > Claim Management > EFT Registration > Enroll.

Once you enroll, we will perform two test deposits (under a dollar) into the bank account you indicated. You must confirm receipt of the test deposits within 30 days to complete your EFT registration. Once you confirm that the tests were successful, it takes only 2 to 4 business days before EFTs begin.

EFT Registration for Ancillary Facilities

To initiate the EFT registration process for participating and nonparticipating ancillary facilities, please complete the Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey EFT Ancillary Form and email it to, or mail it to:

The Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey EFT Ancillary Enrollment Form ONLY applies to Ancillary Facilities. All other providers must register for EFT through NaviNet. Please refer to Registration for Professionals Section for instructions.

Q. I’ve looked on NaviNet but can’t find the EFT Registration link. Why can’t I see this?
A. The EFT Registration link is only visible to those NaviNet users designated as “Security Officers.” If you do not have Security Officer rights, then you will not see the EFT Registration link. Please call NaviNet Customer Care at 1-888-482-8057 for assistance.

Q. Whom do I call if I need help registering for EFT?
A. Physicians, other health care professionals and ancillary professional providers that need help with EFT registration, may contact Horizon BCBSNJ’s eService Desk: call 1-888-777-5075 or email . Ancillary facilities that have questions about EFT registration should contact their Ancillary Contract Specialist.

Q. Are reimbursements for all Horizon BCBSNJ products made electronically?
A. All claims processed for services provided to members enrolled in Horizon BCBSNJ plans are made via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) for providers receiving EFT. However, we do print and mail paper Explanations of Payments (EOPs) to accompany certain EFT payments made for services provided to members enrolled in the Federal Employee Program (FEP) and certain national account employer groups.

Q. What do I do if my bank information changes?
A. Physicians, other health care professionals and ancillary professional providers whose banking arrangements change, may simply sign in to NaviNet, go to the EFT Registration transaction and update the banking information online. After the update, a new set of test deposits will be conducted. Once the administrator confirms the test deposits, the EFT routing will change to the new bank account. Ancillary facilities may submit changes to their bank account information, in writing, to their Ancillary Contract Specialist. Please be sure to direct any such changes at least 30 days in advance to ensure there will be no interruption in your service.
