Self-Service Update: Interact with us about an Outpatient Authorization Request without Calling

Did you know that you can use the Contact Note section within our online Utilization Management Request Tool to send us updates pertaining to your outpatient prior authorization (PA) requests?

With the Contact Note section, you can:

  • Request to add a CPT code to a pended PA case
  • Request a date of service change
  • Inform us that clinical information was attached to a pended case
  • Review notes and/or responses from us about a particular PA

Accessing our Utilization Management Request Tool

To access our Utilization Management Request Tool though NaviNet:

  • Sign in to NaviNet and select Horizon BCBSNJ from the My Health Plans menu.
  • Mouse over Referrals and Authorization within Workflows for this Plan.
  • Select Utilization Management Requests.
  • To use the Contact Note section, choose your case and click Edit on the top right hand corner of the page.
