Provider Reimbursement: EFT or SUA
Since the end of 2020, the reimbursements to providers for services and supplies provided to our members have been made by either Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or via a single use account (SUA) paper card.
- Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
We encourage all providers to take advantage of Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) to receive reimbursements from us. All providers have the ability to register for EFT through NaviNet®.
Please note that registering for, and using, NaviNet is completely free of charge for all participating and nonparticipating providers. If you wish to register for NaviNet, please visit https://navinet.secure.force.com/.
To register for EFT or to make changes to your current EFT banking arrangements, your NaviNet Security Office can simply sign in to NaviNet, select Horizon BCBSNJ from the My Health Plans menu, and:
- Click Claim Management.
- Click EFT/SUA Registration.

Single use account (SUA) paper cards
Horizon no longer makes claim payments using print checks. Payments to providers who are not registered for EFT are made via a single use account (SUA) paper card.
Once a claim is processed, an image of a SUA card(s) is mailed, payable in the exact amount owed (less applicable transaction fees).
SUA cards feature a high level of security, including a unique 16-digit SUA card number created for each payment.
If you do not wish to receive payments via a SUA card, your alternative is to register to receive EFT.
