Important information for members who purchased coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace:

Paying your premium on time is important to keeping your health coverage. Members who have individual coverage purchased directly from Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey and who are not part of an employer or other group plan must pay on time.

Your payment is considered on time only if Horizon BCBSNJ receives it on or before the first of the month. If your payment is received after the first of the month, your account will be considered delinquent. Learn more.

Understanding your payment deadline
Horizon BCBSNJ must receive premium payments from members who have individual coverage, not through an employer, by the first of the month. If you purchased your Horizon BCBSNJ coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace (The Exchange), you have three months to pay your balance in full before your coverage is terminated. This means after the three-month grace period, you will be responsible to pay all health care costs. Learn more about the three-month grace period.
