Why did you pay me and not my doctor?
There are a few reasons why we send the payment to you instead of your doctor:
It may be because the doctor is not in Horizon’s network (also called being out-of-network). That means you need to send the payment to the doctor or other health care professional.
When you use in-network doctors and hospitals, we’ll pay the doctor or hospital directly and you usually pay less out of your pocket for your care. Use our Doctor & Hospital Finder to find in-network doctors and hospitals near you.
It may be because you have other health insurance that is considered your primary insurance.
- Or, it may be because you submitted a prescription drug claim for reimbursement.
