Helping you get the care you need from home with telemedicine at no cost to you
We are all getting used to the “new normal.” But one thing remains the same: getting the care you need is critical to your health and well-being. Since social distancing can help reduce the spread of COVID-19, we encourage you to get the care you need through telemedicine services, when possible. You can:
- Call your in-network doctor to find out if they offer telemedicine – video, phone or chat; or
- Use Horizon CareOnline℠ from Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey.
When you use telemedicine for your care, covered services will be provided at no cost to you – no copay, coinsurance or deductible – for at least 90 days after the end of the public health emergency and State of Emergency as declared by Governor Murphy. This means you will not pay for covered routine care, therapy or mental health care when you get these services through telemedicine.
If your doctor determines that you should be tested for COVID-19, your out-of-pocket costs for testing will be waived. The waiver of your out-of-pocket costs for COVID-19 testing is in place now and will be for at least 90 days after the end of the public health emergency and State of Emergency as declared by Governor Murphy.
In addition, now through August 31, 2020, unless extended, you will not pay out-of-pocket costs for inpatient and outpatient treatment when the primary diagnosis is COVID-19. Learn more about how Horizon BCBSNJ is helping you get the care you need during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
