Member ID Cards Can Now be Shared Virtually

We want to help our members achieve their best physical and mental health. It’s not necessary to postpone getting needed care simply because of a misplaced or forgotten member ID card.
As doctors and other health care professionals continue to offer services through telemedicine platforms, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (Horizon BCBSNJ) reminds our members how simple it is to access their member ID cards on two platforms – the Horizon Blue app and the HorizonBlue.com secure member web portal. Both options let members send a copy of their member ID card to their doctor or other health care professional.

Horizon Blue app
The fastest way to view the member ID card is to use the Horizon Blue app. To get the app, members can text GetApp to 422-272 or download it from the App Store® or Google PlayTM.
After signing in, members simply tap ID Cards and follow on-screen prompts to view, download, print or share their member ID card with their doctors and covered dependents by email or text. Replacement cards can also be ordered through the app. Members who use the app on an iPhone can save their member ID card to Apple WalletTM, a convenient way to store important information.
Members can also view their member ID card by signing in to HorizonBlue.com. Once signed in, select ID Cards and follow the on-screen prompts to print, download or request a new card.
Note: Some members may only be able to view and print a proof of coverage letter, which includes the same information as a member ID card.
Member ID card images will be available to view after enrollments are processed.
